The Sun, The Sand and The Sea

Ok set, since my brother closed his door for me to visit his family in S.A, then I will turned for a beach resort and I can even go diving….. wahoooooo……….Oh! Is time to go beaches again……… I miss my Sun, my Sand and my Sea very much. I desperately need them!!!

Ok, the best place I could think of was to go some island in South China Sea because the monsoon season just over, the weather there will be the BEST! Hum, but I am bored with Pulau Tioman and Pulau Dayang already…….. so go to somewhere northern up ………Pulau Redang then!!! Ok, Set!

On Monday (12 Mar 07) I booked the package to Redang and on Wednesday (14 Mar 07) I set off. This trip started in a form of 有惊无险，又到终点. Why I said that, you continue to read the below, then you will know why liao……..

On 14 Mar 07, I set off to Golden Mile to take my coach to Kula Trengganu. It took about 10 hours road journey to travel from Singapore to Kula Trengganu (set off 2230 and reach 0800). And in Kula Trengganu, there are a few jetties. The most popular one is Merang Jetty (in a Kampong), and the other one is Shar Bandar Jetty (in Kula Trengganu Town). Before that in Singapore, I had checked with the tour agent that I would be dropped at Shar Bandar Jetty and the rest of the passengers would drop at Merang Jetty. But do you know what, the bus driver send me to the Merang Jetty. Oh my gosh! He mentioned that the list given by his office was Merang, and NOT Shar Bandar…… SUCKS! (Oh!老天爷! Are you testing my 应变能力?)

Ok, fine. Then I remembered that there was a number on the booking voucher which I could call for help…….. BUT, it couldn’t get through. (too early liao, nobody in the office). Fine, fine, fine. Then I head to the Merang Jetty counter and hoped that they would allow me to board their ferry by showing them my booking voucher. Ended up, a staff told me: “you are staying in Redang Beach Resort, it is another side of the island, and you should go Shar Bandar Jetty to take your ferry. The ferry here goes to Laguna Beach Resort.” (Actually, he was bull shitting, Redang Beach Resort is just next door of Laguna Beach Resort. Don’t allow me to board your ferry just say so lah…..Alamak! Don’t let me see you again!)

While I walked out from the Jetty counter, there was a young private taxi driver (I think he had heard our conversation) approached me and told me that he could send me to Shar Bandar which was about 45 mins away from Merang Jetty. Then I told him:” No, I will stay here waiting for travel agent guy to pick me up.” (just anyhow beh leh with him first lah. It would be dangerous to get into any vehicle which I don’t know and moreover, I am alone.)

Ok, then I returned to the bus driver. He was eating his breakfast, while waiting for the next ferry from Redang to arrive at 10am. Then he would pick up his passengers and drive back to Singapore. And the ferry will only arrived at 10am so that means he should have some times to send me to the Shar Bandar Jetty. So I said: “Can’t you send me to the Shar Bandar Jetty?” And he replied: “No, I still need to take a bath.” (3 Big sweats coming down from my forehead.) What! Is your bathing time more important then your customer??? Oh Shit! Really feel like whack his head and asked him to wake up his ideal….…

But eventually, he mentioned: “why not you took a taxi down to the Shar Bandar Jetty instead of waiting here, maybe you still able to catch up the ferry. Moreover, you can ask for a claim when you are back in Singapore.” After consideration, I said: “Ok, you go and get a taxi for me and let me know the fare.” So he talked to the people there and got a private taxi （霸王车）for me. The fare is RM40.00.

This private taxi driver was an uncle, he looked friendly and therefore, I got into his car. (before that I took a look at his vehicle number first…… just in case lah). Then in the car, I kept dialing the number of the local agent, but still couldn’t get through.

Initially, this private taxi driver kept talking to me in Malay. (Aiya, as usual lah….. they thought that I am a Malay lah! Hehe….) Then I needed to clarify myself. While talking to him, I asked for his telephone number, I anyhow beh leh that I would be returned in Kula Trengganu in future, so would like to get his contact. So when I am back here, I could call him to bring me around. :p （But this is a 一石many鸟 way: first, got his number just in case anything happen could make a report. Second, if I reach Kula Trengganu, and I still couldn’t get into the ferry or find the travel agent, I could asked him to send me to the bus station and get coach back to Singapore. Third, in future, I am back in Trengganu, I could look for him. Fourth, if the travel agent refused to refund me, at least I had a witness.）Hum……. Am I think too much liao?…. Haha……

Anyway, during the 45 mins journey to Shar Bandar, I am alert to every road he traveled and made sure he turned to the correct way. (of course I don’t know the road lah, but there were road sign along the road mah…. Just beware only lor). I am a multitask person……. Can think, talk and do things at the same time…… I have a happy talking section with this uncle too while he was driving……. I even know his name and hobby. He likes fishing and was a member in Redang Fishing Club......And have relative in Singapore……And..... And..... hahaaa.... Can't stand me right! 调查his家事背景啊！

Ok, finally, I reached Shar Bandar jetty. You will think that my stories ended here right! Oh, too bad to disappoint you. It didn’t end yet. When I reach the jetty, the ferry to Redang Beach Resort just started to leave and the staff on the shore need to shout at the boatman and ask him to come back and fetch me.

While I finally got into the ferry, I saw so many people starring at me, and I felt so paiseh lah…. So I quickly wanted to find a seat to sit down. And I saw first row of seat was empty (I don’t even want to walk to the back seats), so I quickly turn my head and wanted to put down my bag….. and you know what “OUCH” I knocked onto something. (what the hell man, I am so short liao yet still can knock onto something???) Oh, it was a TV RACK hanging on the wall! And do you know what……. I heard from the back that there were somebody make a sound of “Ouch” for me…….Like they can feel how painful was my knock..... Hehe……. So you can imagine how hard I knock onto that idiot TV rack right!....haha…… Then I heard laughing sound….. so malu hor……..Hahaaa……… Instead of a hole, I hope I could dive into the water and hide….. haha………

Things not end here yet…… very long winded hor….. but it’s that many things happened to me on just half a day time. When the ferry reached the sea near Redang; everyone of us need to transfer to a smaller boat to get to the Redang Jetty. So I am not the odd one to transfer over. When it reached the jetty, it indicated “Laguna Island Resort Jetty”. Oh, 老天爷! Don’t tell me I had transfered to the wrong boat again ar!!! Then I quickly, asked a lady (Tiru) opposite me, “Are you all staying in Redang Beach Resort as well?” And she replied: “Yes.” Whew……… Luckily this round I am in the right boat and place liao…….. and from there, I got to know this gang of new friends and we are staying in the same block and deck of the chalet........and I started a fun and exciting stay in Redang……………..

P/S: Oh! 老天爷! Don't always give me this kind of adventurous, exciting and fun trip...... I will get addicted and might not want to find a BF liao....... so care free.........

I think they are doing kickboxing and aerobic rather then dancing..... hahaa...... very buay tahan............ They really very young and cute at heart......

I always don't have the luck to watch the sunrise. The sun is always being blocked by cloud.... even in taiwan - Green Island also the same things :(






Need to do a little bit of trekking before we can reach Kalong Beach Resort.


I saw a very big Iguana and it was finding his food in the trash........ but to bad.... when it heard our foot step...... it "zig cha...... zig cha......." and quickly run into the jungle so did not manage to take it photo.

Snorkeler - Silk (lonely traveler; always carrying a psychological book on his hand; going KL to attend his cousin birthday party after depart from Redang.)
Snorkeler guide - Isly (staff of Redang Beach Resort; Innocent young lady; always carrying a bible in her bag; having a year break before further study.)


F&B Staff - Katherine (young lady; always go around to entertain her customers; very talkative and joyful; See her job as "playing" instead of a "JOB"; sometimes she act as a snorkeler guide; sometimes she act as a diver; sometimes she act as a F&B Manager and sometimes she act as your friends.)

Oh! is Baby Black Tip Shark. Sucks! I have off my camera and now kalang kabo to ON it again. Baby Black Tip Shark, wait for me..... don't swim too fast I wanna to take photos with you.....(keep chasing them). Finally, my camera is in ON mode, but the sharks swim too far away from me liao..... but suddenly they u-turn to me and therefore, I managed to the the shot. Haha...... Sharks also know want to take photo ar!!! If they can talk, I think they will ask me: "Am I photogenic?" hehe....


This is a very natural resort....... there are many small animals running about.... Can you see a squirrel hanging on the rope, did you see it?


And here there is a frog hopping across the sand.... did you see it?




These cats like taking wedding photo right.... one in and one out.... hehe....
I don't know communicate with them how long, then they look at me...... I also know how to speak cat language...... haha...... just keep "meow.....", "meow......" and "meow......"
